FOV Collaborates with Kingston's Center for Creative Education

FOV is excited to announce that the Center for Creative Education’s (CCE) Percussion Orchestra of Kingston (POOK) will be joining us for the production of “L’Elisir d’Amore.” POOK is composed of gifted and dedicated young students from CCE’s drumming program, “with a special focus on the music of Africa and the African Diaspora.”

CCE’s mission “is to enrich the social and cultural awareness of our youth and community through arts, wellness and education.” We are grateful that CCE and POOK could fit us into their schedules this summer as we celebrate and honor African American history and culture during FOV 2019. POOK will be joining our existing orchestra to add a talented percussive element to this year’s main stage opera “L’Elisir d’Amore.”

“L’Elisir d’Amore’s” stage setting at FOV 2019 will be Ghana, featuring stars Orson Van Gay II, Jasmine Habersham, Leroy Davis, Lawrence Craig, and Jordan Taylor. The atmosphere will be brought to life by these powerful voices accompanied by POOK’s explosive percussion, creating a once in a lifetime show you don’t want to miss.

Grab your friends and come join us at FOV 2019 as our artists make opera history!
